Hello friends!

Here are some recent updates about my life!

Recently I was accepted as an Intern for the Asian Art department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art! While I'm not quite sure what kinds of projects I will be working on or my duties as an Intern, I'm excited to start this new journey and learn more about a place that I've considered my Art Home for the past, like, 10 years.

It's all a little surreal to be honest, because I had applied earlier this year for the Summer internship with no luck, and wasn't really expecting this one to pan out. But! No use crying over spilt milk! I'm happy to be a part of the team and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know the museum more thoroughly than in the past!

Additionally, in more illustration based news, I'll be featuring in a new zine organized by my good friend from college, Karyn Lee! She's an artist I really admire and I adore her work so much, and I can't wait to draw my piece for it! The topic is on Found Family, the concept of families we form together of our own choice. Other artists in the lineup will be drawing art about all sorts of different topics, but I'm focusing on the idea of found family in Bollywood movies! A lot of Bollywood movies are musicals with romance-based narratives, so it was a little bit of a challenge to pick a movie where the found family didn't also involve some kind of romantic subplot (nearly impossible, and I may choose one with a romantic subplot anyway) but I've narrowed it down to a few movies I think could fit! You can check out more info on the project HERE!

Alright, hopefully I'll make more posts like this? I've never been great at journaling. Or finishing things. Or finishing journals. Let's play it by ear.

See you soon!
