Hello old blog!

It’s been literally five years since my last sincere post. Wow, how my life has changed since then…

For starters, I’m now finishing up my second and final year of graduate school, studying Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It’s a fascinating program, and each of the classes I’ve had the chance to take has offered me new perspectives in understanding information and the power it holds.

I’m working as a graduate assistant in the Student Affairs department for my specific college, which has given me the opportunity to organize a series of events for students and collaborate with a lot of really cool people. It’s very different from where I thought I’d be. Looking back at my old posts, I don’t think I could have ever predicted I’d end up here, and yet it all kind of feels like things are coming together and fitting in place. I came back here because I have an assignment in one of my classes where I have to draw up a concept for a fictional exhibition, and I remember writing something about that five years ago. Five years ago, at the Met. And yet, here I am, reaching back through time to grab ideas. I have to be honest, I don’t think they’re viable for this assignment, but I think I have some idea of the direction I want to go instead.

It’s all very new, and most of it is exciting!
